Tutorial File Installation

The tutorial files used in this training course need to be installed from Softree’s Support web site. Go to the Support-Documentation Updates page on Softree’s web site:

Press the download button for the tutorials on that page:

This will direct you to the download:

 

 

 

• Once downloaded, double click on Softree_Tutorial_V10.exe to launch the installer 

NOTE: the downloaded file is typically available in your downloads folder. 

The Softree Tutorial installer will launch (figure below).  We recommend installing ALL tutorial files in the installer:

• Check all the optional features to install (or check “Select All“)
• Press Install

 

Locating the Training Files

The tutorial files (data sets) will be installed in the folder below by default:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\softree\TrainingV10\

Recommendation: To make accessing files easier as you work through the tutorial, we suggest pinning the  <LiDAR> folder to your Quick Access menu.  To do so, 

• open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\softree\TrainingV10\RoadEngResource  
• Right-click on the <LiDAR> folder
• select “Pin to Quick Access” (as shown in the figure below)

This will now make the folder available on the left-hand side of Windows Explorer (see figure below).

 

Once your training files have been installed and pinned to quick access, please press complete and continue.
